991 candidates file nomination for Maharashtra Assembly elections

A total of 991 candidates filed 1,292 nomination papers for the 2024 Maharashtra Assembly election by Friday, the fourth day for submissions, the Chief Electoral Office reported. Nominations close on October 29, followed by scrutiny on October 30 and withdrawals by November 4. Voting for the 288 Assembly seats is set for November 20, with results on November 23.
