998 Indian species in IUCN 'Red List'

Recently released “Red List” of threatened species published by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) revealed that India has a total of 998 species in the critically endangered, endangered and vulnerable species categories. Compared to last year, the country has added 15 species. However, it climbed down a spot to 7th, helped by China, who added 37 species.
