A new micro plant species identified in the midst of Pune

Researchers from IISER Pune, have accidentally discovered a new plant species Canscora agni in the Sus hill of Pune. The specific name 'agni' means 'fire' in several Indian languages, including Marathi. The scientists chose the particular name as frequent forest fires help plants like Canscora agni to grow and thrive.
