A new spiny seahorse discovered off the coast of Tamil Nadu

A team of international marine biologists has discovered a new spiny seahorse, Hippocampus amandavincentae. It was accidentally found in a fishing bycatch in Tamil Nadu. It is distributed across the Indian Ocean. The discovery resolves taxonomic confusion with its Pacific lookalike cousins.
