Aadhaar number mandatory to get govt benefits and subsidies: UIDAI

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has said that if a citizen doesn't have an Aadhaar number, he/she may not be entitled to avail government subsidies and benefits. The UIDAI said that a citizen may avail the benefits, subsidies and services through alternate and viable means of identification along with Aadhaar enrolment identification number till Aadhaar number is assigned.
