AAP becomes national party; Sharad Pawar's NCP, Mamata Banerjee's TMC lose status
The Election Commission on Monday announced that Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is now a national party. On the other hand, the EC revoked the national party status of Sharad Pawar's Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Mamata Banerjee's All India Trinamool Congress (TMC), and Communist Party of India (CPI). These parties will now be recognised as regional parties.
