Former CJI DY Chandrachud said on a podcast that absolute free speech is "only an abstract norm" that exists in no society, including America. He added that freedom carries responsibility and citizens cannot "spew venom and hatred". In a diverse nation, he said, everyone has a rightful place, and lines such as inciting enmity between groups must not be crossed.
