Absurd I can't sack officers accused of rape: UK’s top policeman after HC order
Commissioner of London's Metropolitan Police Service, Mark Rowley, called it "absurd" that a High Court ruling prevents sacking serving officers who failed a vetting review, even if they'd been accused of rape or other serious crimes. The court ruled that officers cannot be dismissed by revoking their vetting clearance. The decision "has left policing in a hopeless position", Rowley added.
