The old class sleeper compartments are being replaced by three-tier AC coaches, in the trains of southern railways.
Proposals are being given to replace all second class compartments of the express and super-fast trains, in the next five-six years. Till now, S-2 sleeper class coach of the Ernakulam junction—Nizamuddin Mangala Express has been permanently replaced with an AC 3-tier coach.
