Accident claim rejected over alcohol history, woman wins ₹60 lakh

A consumer commission has directed a private insurer and bank to pay ₹60 lakh to the widow of a deceased police head constable after his accidental death claim was rejected, citing his "history of alcohol consumption". The commission said this does not prove he was drunk during the accident and it can't be treated as interchangeable for invoking insurance-policy exclusion.
