Acko receives IRDAI approval to operate life insurance business

The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) has granted Bengaluru-based digital insurer Acko a licence to operate life insurance business. The regulator also gave a nod to microfinance company Credit Access. Notably, the last company to have received a licence for life insurance was Edelweiss in 2011.
