Act against forceful chanting of religious slogans: Mayawati

BSP supremo Mayawati on Monday called the "new wrong practice" of forcefully making people chant religious slogans in states including Uttar Pradesh a "violent trend" and asked central and state governments to take strong action against it. This comes after 12 youths were booked for allegedly pulling an imam's beard and forcing him to chant 'Jai Shri Ram' in Muzaffarnagar.
