Active GST taxpayers rise 32% in 5 years to 1.4 crore: Govt

The Finance Ministry on Sunday shared data on rise in number of active taxpayers since implementation of GST in 2017. According to data, active GST taxpayers rose from 1.06 crore in April 2018 to 1.4 crore in April 2023, marking 32.16% increase in five years. The Ministry added compliance level in GST return filing has also improved over the years.
