Actress Meher Afroz, whose house was burnt, detained for conspiracy against Bangladesh

Prominent Bangladeshi actress Meher Afroz Shaon has been detained by the Detective Branch of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police on charges of conspiring against the state, local media reported citing officials. Her arrest comes hours after her family home was attacked and set on fire in Jamalpur. Shaon is the daughter of Awami League leader Mohammad Ali.
