Actress Tanuja diagnosed with diverticulitis; to undergo surgery

Veteran actress Tanuja, Kajol's mother, will undergo an operation for a condition called diverticulitis, which results in the inflammation or infection of small pouches called diverticula that develop along the walls of the intestines. The 75-year-old was admitted to Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital on Tuesday. The news comes two days after the demise of veteran action director Veeru Devgan, Kajol's father-in-law.
