Adani renames Australian unit Bravus mistaking it for 'brave'
India's Adani Enterprises renamed its Australian mining unit Bravus Mining and Resources after mistakenly thinking that 'bravus' is Latin for 'brave'. However, multiple Latin experts pointed out that 'bravus' means 'crooked', 'deformed, 'mercenary or assassin'. The rebrand comes as the company prepares to produce its first coal from the long-delayed Carmichael coal mine in northeastern Australia.
