Congress' Shashi Tharoor criticised renaming of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), saying that including "Ram" while removing Mahatma Gandhi's name is disrespect to both names. Tharoor opposed inclusion of multiple languages in the Bill - Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin). He said Constitution calls for only one language to be used.
