Adidas was started in wash kitchen of founder's mother

The parent company of the sportswear manufacturer Adidas was started by Founder Adolf Dassler in his mother's wash kitchen in Bavaria, Germany. Adidas was formally established in 1949 after a misunderstanding between the Dassler brothers. Adolf Dassler, who was born on 3 November 1900, named the company using his nickname, Adi, and the initial letters of his surname.
