AFC joins UEFA, Concacaf in opposing FIFA's plan to sell World Cup stake

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has joined UEFA and Concacaf in opposing FIFA President Gianni Infantino's proposal to allow private investors to buy stakes in FIFA competitions. AFC warned the plan could undermine the World Cup's universal nature. With the three confederations holding 136 of 211 votes, the proposal is unlikely to secure the 106 votes needed for approval.
