Afghanistan's currency drops to record low as Taliban takes over
Afghanistan central bank's acting governor has fled as the nation's currency hit a record low amid Taliban's takeover. On Tuesday, the Afghani fell 1.7% to 83.5 per dollar, declining for the fourth day, as per Bloomberg. Ajmal Ahmady on Twitter said, "Currency spiked from a stable 81 to almost 100 then back to 86...That was one day before Kabul fell."
