AFSPA extended for 6 months in Manipur, Nagaland, Arunachal

The Centre has extended AFSPA for six months from October 1 in specified areas of Manipur, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh, retaining their “disturbed area” status. The extension covers nine districts in Nagaland and three in Arunachal Pradesh. In Manipur, it applies statewide except 13 police station jurisdictions across five districts. AFSPA grants armed forces special powers in designated areas.
