After $102 mn heist, a burst pipe damages hundreds of rare books at Paris' Louvre museum
A burst pipe inside the Louvre museum in Paris last month damaged up to 400 rare books in its Egyptian antiquities department. This comes weeks after thieves stole jewellery worth $102 million from the museum. The books, which were reportedly used for research, were damaged after the water entered one of the three rooms of the Egyptian antiquities department’s library.
