After 35 yrs, FIR filed against 12 cops for framing 12 men in 'fake encounter' in Kanpur

UP Police's Crime Branch-CID has found that 12 men arrested in 1991 Kanpur encounter case were falsely implicated. An FIR has been filed against 12 policemen for allegedly fabricating evidence, wrongful confinement and other offences. The inquiry found that the men were picked up from their homes and licensed firearms belonging to their families were shown as recovered weapons.
