After Captain quits, Punjab Cong MLAs authorise Sonia to pick leader

On the day Captain Amarinder Singh resigned as Punjab CM, state Congress MLAs authorised party president Sonia Gandhi to pick a new Congress Legislature Party leader. A unanimous resolution was passed to this effect at a meeting, which was attended by 78 of 80 party MLAs. Party observer Ajay Maken hoped Congress would "continue to get guidance of Amarinder Singh".
