After Congress' Nandigram pick, Independent Rejinagar bypoll candidate arrested

After the arrest of Congress' Nandigram candidate Milan Pradhan, an independent candidate contesting the Rejinagar Assembly bypolls was arrested on Saturday. Saiful Islam Mondal was arrested in a five-year-old case linked to a clash between two groups during the 2021 state elections, police said. Pradhan was arrested on Friday in connection with the 2007 land acquisition movement.
