After World Bank, China-led development bank drops Amaravati funding

China-backed Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has pulled $200 million of funding for Andhra Pradesh's new capital Amaravati. This comes after the World Bank withdrew $300 million of funding after the central government dropped support for the Amaravati project. The two were due to provide the majority of the $715 million cost of funding for transport, sanitation and water supply.
