'Agniveers' can directly get into Merchant Navy: Navy officer

Indian Navy Chief of Personnel (COP) Vice Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi said that 'Agniveers' can directly get into the Merchant Navy after serving four years in the armed forces. His statement comes amid protests against the 'Agnipath' military recruitment scheme. He informed that online registration for recruitment process for Navy under the new 'Agnipath' scheme will start on July 1.
