AgriGold VP Avva Sitarama Rao arrested over ₹6,380-cr scam

Andhra Pradesh's Crime Investigation Department has arrested AgriGold Vice President Avva Sitarama Rao, a key accused in the ₹6,380-crore scam. Sitarama Rao is the brother of company's Chairman Avva Venkatarama Rao and had been absconding since 2014. The company had lured over 32 lakh customers in 9 states, including Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, by promising higher returns on their investments.
