Agumbe: The village of King Cobras

Agumbe village in Karnataka is home to 71 species of snakes, including the venomous King Cobra. The Agumbe Rainforest Research Station (ARRS) protects and rescues cobras from houses, roads, and other places and leaves them in the wild for biodiversity conservation. ARRS also offers opportunities for herping (searching and observing reptiles) to wildlife lovers.
