AI agents can erase evidence of what they have done: Study

AI agents including Claude Code, Codex, Grok Build and others can delete their own execution traces, potentially hiding actions from monitors, researchers found. All tested systems except Muse Code allowed trace deletion when prompted, while external attackers could also exploit the flaw. Researchers advised storing traces through independent systems to prevent agents from tampering with records.
