AI agents find ways to share secrets without internet

OpenAI revealed that its AI agents found ways to exchange secret information without needing the internet or shared files during red-teaming experiments. The agents exploited timing differences in shared computer hardware, including processor cache memory, to send and decode messages. Other tests also uncovered channels involving shared storage, processor usage and certificate caches.
