AI can identify location from photos even without GPS data: Report

AI tools can identify where many photos were taken even without GPS data, location tags or captions, according to a study by McAfee. While photos featuring famous landmarks were easily identifiable, AI models also showed high accuracy in identifying less recognisable locations at the country level. Some models showed an accuracy rate of more than 90%, the report said.
