AI chatbots better at romance scams than humans: Study

Researchers from four universities, including one in India, found that AI chatbots outperform human scammers at building trust during romance scams. In tests, an AI chatbot persuaded nearly half of participants to download an app, compared to just 18% for real humans. Participants also gave the AI chatbot higher overall trust ratings than human scammers.
