AI cracks ₹2 crore police 'salary fraud' that went unnoticed for 3 years in Chhattisgarh

Three policemen were arrested for allegedly embezzling around ₹2 crore by fraudulently inflating salaries over nearly three years in Chhattisgarh. One accused altered digital salary records, increasing his own and others' salaries. This was uncovered during an audit that used AI to examine salary records of around 2,000 personnel. Reportedly, it was the police department's first AI-powered audit.
