AI decodes 3,500-year-old scripts, compares ancient handwriting in 5 minutes
A new AI model called 'Palaeographicum' has successfully begun decoding 3,500-year-old script cuneiform tablets from the Hittite civilisation, which once dominated what is now Turkey. The ancient handwriting system cuneiform was written by 400 scribes, each with unique styles, and Palaeographicum cut the handwriting comparison time from three days to five minutes. The tool also helps date tablets.
