AI-designed drugs can replace decades-long process: Demis Hassabis

Google DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis said AI could speed up traditional drug discovery process, which currently takes several years and is often failure-prone. He noted DeepMind's Isomorphic Labs aims to design medicines using advanced models like AlphaFold and estimate their behaviour in the human body. The company expects the first clinical trial of a fully AI-designed drug by 2026.
