AI detects archaeological sites in vast 'Empty Quarter' desert

A team of researchers in Abu Dhabi have successfully developed an AI-powered system that can analyse the 'Empty Quarter' desert near the Arabian Peninsula, and detect archaeological sites. It uses satellite imagery technique and radio waves to detect objects. This will notably be an upgrade from the traditional method of ground surveys in harsh desert conditions.
