AI-led layoffs in 6 months of 2026 surpass layoffs in whole of 2025: Report

The total number of layoffs driven by AI in first six months of 2026 has hit 1.28 lakh employees, already surpassing the total number of layoffs in the whole of 2025, Layoffs.fyi data showed. Last year, a total of 1.24 lakh employees were fired because of AI. A record 2.65 lakh employees were laid off due to AI in 2023.
