AI pop band's creator makes 'virtual' singer quit after announcing 'pregnancy' to reduce workload

Creators of Babyqueen, a Chinese AI-generated pop band, have sparked a row after saying its lead singer quit due to 'pregnancy'. The virtual singer's post announcing pregnancy was slammed for "trivialising women's reproductive experiences". While apologising, the creators admitted they invented pregnancy scenario to reduce workload of managing the "online lives" of five virtual members.
