AI robot monk 'Buddharoid' that can give spiritual advice unveiled in Japan

Japan's Kyoto University has unveiled a humanoid AI robot monk named 'Buddharoid' that can give spiritual advice and perform rituals. The project aims to ease the shortage of monks as the country struggles with an ageing population. The robot is equipped with an AI chatbot called 'BuddhaBot-Plus', which is built on the base of OpenAI's ChatGPT.
