AI scraping is largest theft of labour in human history: Microsoft exec

Microsoft executive Brent Hecht called AI companies' mass scraping of internet content the "largest theft of labour in human history". His remarks came from unsealed court filings from the copyright case brought by The New York Times and other news organisations against Microsoft and OpenAI. Microsoft and OpenAI have claimed that using copyrighted training data comes under protected fair use.
