AI turns routine pathology slides into spatial proteomics data

Microsoft, along with Providence and the University of Washington, presented GigaTIME, a multimodal AI model that turns routine pathology slides into spatial proteomics. This model has the potential to reduce time and cost while expanding access to cancer care. It was trained on dataset of 40 million cells with paired hematoxylin and eosin and immunofluorescence images across 21 protein channels.
