Air India employs more pilots than IndiGo despite fewer planes
Data tabled in Parliament showed Air India, which operates a smaller fleet of 181 aircraft, employs more pilots than market leader IndiGo, which manages 430 planes. Six domestic airlines have employed 13,989 pilots, with Air India having 6,350 pilots and IndiGo having 5,085 cockpit crew. The number of pilots employed at Akasa and SpiceJet stands at 466 and 385, respectively.
