Air India flight flies with wheels out, forced to land early

Air India has grounded two female pilots after they forgot to retract the landing gear of a flight after takeoff last week. The Mumbai-bound flight landed in Nagpur as flying with the wheels out meant increased fuel consumption, resulting in less fuel for the onward journey. The pilots only realised they forgot to retract the gear while preparing to land.
