Air pollution can affect COVID-19 vaccine efficacy: Study

Individuals exposed to high levels of air pollution before pandemic are likely to have lower antibody responses to COVID-19 vaccines, a study stated. Exposure to PM2.5, NO2, and BC was associated with 10% decrease in IgM and IgG antibody responses in people without prior infection. Air pollution induces chronic inflammation, which has negative effect on vaccine efficacy, a researcher said.
