AirAsia stops its operations in Japan due to COVID-19 impact

AirAsia has ceased its operations in Japan to reduce cash burn as COVID-19 has hit the airline and travel industries. The airline reported its largest loss on record at $238 million in the second quarter ended June 30. "It would be extremely challenging for us to continue operating without any certainty of a post-pandemic recovery path," AirAsia said.
