Airbnb profit surges 280% to $834 million in third quarter

Airbnb has reported $834 million in net profit in the third quarter, a surge of 280% from the same period a year ago. Revenue rose 66.7% to $2.24 billion, reportedly beating estimates of $2.05 billion. Airbnb expects revenue between $1.39 billion and $1.48 billion in the fourth quarter. Gross booking value totalled $11.89 billion, up about 48% year-over-year.
