Airbus to pay record $4 bn settlement in bribery, corruption case

Airbus has settled a bribery and corruption case with France, UK and US for $4 billion in which the company had been accused of hiding payments to middlemen to get contracts. The company used bribes to increase business in 16 countries. The deal means that Airbus has avoided criminal probe that could have banned it from bidding in public contracts.
