Aircraft carrier INS Vishal to not be nuclear-powered

India's indigenous aircraft carrier, INS Vishal, will not be nuclear powered as Bhabha Atomic Research Centre will take 15-20 years to develop a nuclear reactor capable of propelling the 65,000-70,000 tonne vessel, reports said. INS Vishal will be able to house 55 aircraft and also have an electromagnetic aircraft launch system to launch aircraft off the carrier.
