Airline refund complaints jump over 233% in 2025 amid surge in operational issues

Customer complaints over airline refunds jumped over 233% year-on-year to 4,386 in 2025, Minister of State for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol said. As per analysts and officials, this was pushed by a massive surge in operational disruptions that year, like the IndiGo crisis. Notably, the number of complaints had reduced to 961 in 2023 from 1,508 in 2022.
